MY DEAREST PEOPLE-
Well, yesterday was the BEST because I talked to 6 of my
most favorite people but here I am once again to give you the rundown of the week!!!!!!
This has been a crazy week because
we've only actually worked about 4 days ((due to conferences and holidays)) but
nonetheless, there are miracles to share!!!!
The first and biggest miracle is that we have a set
baptismal date with someone!!! TALK ABOUT A MIRACLE. Things have been going pretty slow in Jerez but it's all
turning around. On Thursday, we
went to our pueblo and had a cita with a man named Vicente. He is so so so prepared. Basically the first thing he said was,
"So what steps do I need to take to be a member of your church?" We talked a little bit about prayer,
scripture study, church attendance and YES, we definitely invited him to be
baptized :)) He's working towards the 4th of January!!! He's already read the Book of Mormon
completely through and he just started it again. He prays every day and is more than willing to listen to us. The only hard part is that he lives
about 2 hours away but we will figure this out!!!
This week we had our Christmas conference with president. We were just 3 zones but it was super
fun and so nice to see people. I
even got to see my girl Hermana Wood!!!!! Our district did a song for the talent show and it was pretty
fun. President and Hermana
Andersen talked a lot about setting goals and what "gift" we can give
the Savior this year. We reflected
on this last year and what we gave and what we
gained. It was
great to look back on this year and see how much I've learned and how much I've
grown. I can honestly say that I
am a completely changed person because of the mission. I have learned how to trust in my Savior
more. I've learned how to love
others as the Savior would. I've
learned what role the Savior plays in my life. I don't think I would ever be able to put into summary what
I've learned
this year but I hope that others will be able to see it
through the way I live my life. I
have lots of goals for the next year to make me stretch and grow. AND IN BIG NEWS, Hermana Højholdt and I
get to stay together for another transfer!!!!! I'm so happy because I just love her to death :)) We've got some big things planned for
Jerez.
I have learned that God is merciful with his miracles-even
with insignificant things. Yesterday, on the way to church, Hermana Højholdt
and I were carrying tons of really heavy bags. The walk to the church from our piso is about 30 minutes so
we were not excited about that. While
we were walking, I said, "I would cry if some members just drove up and
asked us if we wanted a ride to church." Not kidding, 2 MINUTES LATER we hear, "hey hermanas,
wanna ride????" Talk about a Christmas
miracle!!!!!!
DONT FORGET HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU ALL,
Hermana Spangler
